How to place a share trade online	You can place an order online anytime – or if you prefer, over the phone from 8 am to 7 pm (AEST) on any trading day. For your protection, we do not accept orders by fax or email. When you place an order, you need to tell us: The ASX code. To find a code, enter the company name in the Quote field, then click the magnifying glass. Order size. This means the number of units or the dollar value of your order. You can place orders online up to $250,000, however there is no limit for phone orders. Your preferred price. You can place either a Limit order (only fulfilled if the security meets your limit price) or a Market at Limit order (executed as soon as possible at the best available price). The latter can only be placed during trading hours – 10 am to 4 pm (AEST). It's up to you how long your order will remain on market. It can be good for the day only, good till cancelled, or expires on a specific date.
Sell shares bought through another broker	First, transfer the shares to your HSBC Online Share Trading account by executing a Broker to Broker Transfer Request. Then Place a Sell order, either online or over the phone.
Sell shares bought through an initial public offering (IPO)	First, transfer the shares to your HSBC Online Share Trading account by executing an Issuer Sponsored Conversion Request. Then Place a Sell order, either online or over the phone.
Track, change and cancel trades online	Log on to your HSBC Online Share Trading Account at www.sharetrading.hsbc.com.au and click Orders on the main menu to track outstanding and executed orders. If you'd like to change or cancel an order, simply click on the order then update it. You can also call us on 1300 782 811.
Change your service level	Log on to your HSBC Online Share Trading Account at www.sharetrading.hsbc.com.au and click My Account on the main menu. Once you're at the My Account page, click Change my information service level then follow the prompts.
Close your trading account	If you'd like to close your HSBC Online Share Trading Account, send us a signed request either by fax or physical mail. Remember to include your account number.
